Yacht Club Games has announced Mina The Hollower, a new 2D top-down action-adventure game slated for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. The fundraiser, which has already attracted more than 18k backers, will end in three days. More importantly, we want to build a community around Kickstarter, much like we did with Shovel Knight. The creators of Shovel Knight are making a new game, and it’s as 8-bit as it can get. The studio launched the Kickstarter campaign earlier this month, raising the goal of 311k within the first few hours. Described as a bone-chilling action adventure, Mina the Hollower uses a top-down 8-bit art style that strongly evokes the look of Game Boy Color titles, which is in keeping with the companys. "Though we’re financing a majority of this project ourselves, we hope we can create a more expansive game this way. "That’s why we’re returning to our roots and kicking off Mina the Hollower’s development as a Kickstarter campaign.

"We want your feedback, collaboration, and support in making Mina the Hollower the best game it can possibly be," he said. Much like its Shovel Knight debut, the LA-based studio has opted to bring Mina The Hollower to Kickstarter in a bid to help raise funding for the project. Yacht Club Games director and designer Alec Faulkner said the studio was returning to Kickstarter to recreate the feeling of Shovel Knight's development, which was also funded through the crowdfunding service. Mina the Hollower will, like Shovel Knight before it, combine classic and modern styles – and will feature 60 frames per second combat in a world of mystery and horror. Mina the Hollower Take control of Mina, a renowned Hollower hurtled into a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island. Alongside the announcement, Yacht Club Games also launched a Kickstarter for the project, hoping to work closely with fans to deliver. It won’t just be memes forever, but the memes do already tell the dev team that people are into this game already. The game has only been recently announced. The studio's release of Shovel Knight in 2014 hurtled it into mainstream success and spawned several spin-offs, but it hasn't revealed a new franchise until today (Yacht Club has published non-Shovel Knight games, but never developed one itself). Yacht Club Games has finally lifted the curtain on their first project since the mighty Shovel Knight, announcing the top-down action-adventure title Mina the Hollower. That’s true, however it shouldn’t have to invest money to share our thoughts on the development of the game, especially if we won’t get a share of the profits.
